The prom dresses of the 80′s often had additional fabric added in the design. These gowns were typically colorful and basically of darker shades. What is important about prom dresses during the 80’s was the use of dazzling gold, steel silver, beautiful pinks and electric blues. The gowns were really bold in their structure and frequently pulled in attention at all prom events. These dresses usually touched the shins sweeping onto the floor. These figure-hugging gowns had designs made of sequins or even ruffles. The types of fabrics used were basically lovely silks or velvets and soft satins. Lace and pearls were as well incorporated into the design.
Vibrant and bold colors are back in style while the light pastels and washed-out whites of past proms are out. This particular year, it’s time to stand out and glow in a striking shade. Brilliant oranges, pinks, and yellows will surely be present in the prom event this year. Here are two photographs of a vibrant yellow and orange prom gowns, the Tony Bowls Evenings TBE21001 and Sherri Hill #3802.
