Tumescent Liposculpture - What you Should know

Tumescent Liposculpture is the safest method of liposuction available and is today one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures. This new treatment has been found to be safer; it offers less discomfort, is much more efficient and has much better recovery results. These benefits have also allowed more effective treatment of older patients as well.

How does it work?
Tumescent liposculpture uses an advanced technique of permanently removing excess fat deposits in areas that are resistant to diet and exercise. The technique starts by infiltrating the fat with a sterile fluid before it is removed. This solution completely numbs the area due to the effect of local anesthetic, therefore general anesthesia or sedation is not required. The blood vessels are then constricted using a substance called adrenalin, this greatly reduces bleeding. Then using suction tubes called cannulas, the fat is removed. The term liposculpture is coined because the surgeon can actually sculpt the area to give it a desired shape such as removing bumps and grooving. Also there are no stitches or ugly scars.
